  • JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg)
  • GIF (.gif)
  • BMP (.bmp)
  • WebP (.webp)
  • TIFF (.tiff, .tif)

What Image Analysis Can Do

Describe Image Content

The AI can describe what's in an image, including:

  • Main subject and scene
  • Objects, people, and their positions
  • Colours, layout, and composition
  • Visual style and quality

Extract Text (OCR)

The AI can read and transcribe text from images, including:

  • Documents and printed text
  • Handwritten notes
  • Signs and labels
  • Text in screenshots

Interpret Charts and Diagrams

The AI understands visual data representations:

  • Bar charts, line graphs, pie charts
  • Flow diagrams and process maps
  • Organisational charts
  • Technical diagrams and schematics

Analyse Technical Content

For specialised images:

  • Screenshots of software or websites
  • Architecture diagrams
  • Wireframes and mockups
  • Data visualisations

How to Use Image Analysis

Upload an Image

  1. Attach an image using any upload method (see File Uploads)
  2. Ask a question about the image
  3. The AI will analyse and respond

Example Prompts

[Attach image of a chart] "What does this chart show? What are the key trends?"
[Attach screenshot] "Extract all the text from this image"
[Attach diagram] "Explain this process flow step by step"
[Attach handwritten notes] "Transcribe these handwritten notes into typed text"

Copy from Web

  2. Select "Copy image"
  3. Paste into PioneerChat

Best Practices

Tip: For best results, ensure images are clear and well-lit. Avoid blurry or heavily compressed images when you need accurate text extraction.

For Text Extraction

  • Use high-resolution images
  • Ensure text is readable (not too small)
  • Good contrast between text and background
  • Minimal rotation or skew

For Charts and Diagrams

  • Include legends and labels in the image
  • Ensure all text is legible
  • Ask specific questions about what you want to know

Limitations

Image analysis works best with clear, well-defined content. It may struggle with:

  • Very low resolution or blurry images
  • Highly stylised or artistic text
  • Complex handwriting
  • Images with minimal content or context

For critical text extraction, always verify the output against the original image.
